 This morning as I was watching the rising of the sun over the City of Guatemala, I couldn’t help but praise God for His goodness, His power and His grace in my life. For me, it’s hard to believe that I have already been here for two weeks! Progress is being made on the house that I am renting--cleaning, painting, preparing to move in. Praise the Lord it is in a very safe neighborhood!! I have purchased the major appliances and a delivery was made today. The dryer and the microwave should be delivered in 8-10 days. Last week I was able to open a bank account which is a huge blessing! The next big thing for me is locating a good, pre-owned vehicle. There is a lot to do here, but I’m trying to take it one step at a time. The Kinmans have been so helpful in this process! Thanks for your continued prayers! : )

Two days ago I arrived in Guatemala to be greeted at the airport by my teammates, Jerry and Mindy Kinman. It was an overwhelming, yet surreal feeling as we walked to their car and I realized that ‘I am actually in Guatemala!’ : ) God is so good! I praise Him for this opportunity to serve among the peoples of Guatemala! Please continue in prayer with me that I will be sensitive to God’s direction in ministry. Thanks so much! : ) |

Going to the Guatemalan Consulate in Chicago was a very quick and productive trip! I was able to have my official papers authenticated by the Guatemalan government. This is the first and only step toward attaining residency that can be accomplished stateside. Praise the Lord! Next, I spent a week in Indiana at a conference for Biblical counseling. The Lord used the truths of His Word to encourage me in my personal walk with Him, as well as the encouragement of effectively helping others. My last deputation service was on Valentine’s Day. It was especially wonderful to talk with the children about the Greatest Valentine ever given, the gift of Jesus’ love and death on Calvary. Please continue to pray for me as I leave one week from today to share this same message to the Guatemalan children and to their moms and dads. : ) |

Finally! My departure for Guatemala is February 23rd!!! I am really excited as I envision myself living and ministering there! I praise the Lord for His sustaining grace, His protection and His much-needed strength that has allowed me to arrive at this point of ministry! My heart rejoices in His provision, and I am elated to share with you that my monthly support level just topped 100%!!! When I ponder God’s goodness, I am overwhelmed! Thank you for rejoicing with me! |
